We must be in May sweeps. I had to use all my DVR's to be able to record all the shows on tonight: Survivor finale, Desperate Housewives series finale, Harry's Law, the Killing, Nurse Jackie and the premiere of a new season of the Next Food Network Star. It will take me all week to watch them all. And tomorrow night a new Bachelorette season begins,

One of Denver's early public defenders, now deceased, used to say about his clients who had done terrible things: "There's something good to say about every one, even if it's only that their mother loved them." [More...]

Republican Senator Richard Lugar is out in Indiana, losing in today's primary to his "tea-party" backed challenger, State Treasurer Richard Mourdock. I'm not sorry to see him go.
George Zimmerman waived his right to speedy trial today. The hearing took less than 30 seconds and neither the lawyers nor Zimmerman appeared. The next hearing is set for August 8, and that's for scheduling matters. There's no date set yet for release of discovery.
Who will win The Voice tonight? Even though I didn't care much for the show or contestants this year, I hope it's Juliet Sims.

Your turn. President Obama officially launched his bid for reelection today.
I haven't read any George Zimmerman news today, but feel free to discuss the case here.
It doesn't look like the Government is going to call Rielle Hunter in the John Edwards trial. While that's no guarantee, I don't see any benefit to the Government from calling her. All the money she got went though Andrew Young. And since two of the lawyers who represented her in the state civil case against Andrew Young are now representing Edwards at trial, with her approval, I think she'd try to help Edwards, even though the Government gave her immunity from prosecution in exchange for her telling its the truth.[More...]
