Donald Trump laid out his foreign policy agenda today. It's being bashed by Republicans and Democrats alike. On the car radio, the CNN commentator I happened to hear criticized everything about it, from his halting delivery (his teleprompter skills are apparently not ready for prime time) to his use of the slogan "America First" (a throwback to the much criticized 1930's isolationist policy).

Trump’s use of an expression so dated and discredited reflects his willingness to dip into the past for catch phrases that, no matter their historical baggage, can still appeal to voters.

The best TV show I saw this weekend: Viceland's States of Undress goes to Palestine (it's available On Demand on Comcast, or you can watch it online here.)

The Good Wife has just a few episodes left. There are so many characters on this show that I can't stand watching, I'm surprised I watch the show at all. Is it really going to go out at the same place it began, with Alicia's husband Peter indicted? Only this time, Alicia refuses to stand by his side? I hope the ending isn't as trite as that. But it's really gone downhill this season fast, so I won't be surprised if it is.

Prince has died at his home in Minnesota at age 57. He cancelled a few concerts earlier in the week for medical reasons.

The singer – full name Prince Rogers Nelson – had a medical emergency on April 15th that forced his private jet to make an emergency landing in Illinois. But he appeared at a concert the next day to assure his fans he was okay. His people told TMZ he was battling the flu. Prior to his most recent appearance however, Prince had cancelled two shows due to health concerns.

For alternative TV watching, Viceland is replaying six episodes of F*ck That's Delicious, with NY chef turned rapper, Action Bronson and crew. You can watch online or on cable. I think the episodes called Culinary Athleticism (filmed in New York) and "The Showdown in Lamb Alley" (filmed in Morocco, trailer below)are the best.

But .Mic should fire its headline writer and Google needs a new algorithm for picking news articles. Example: This headline is false and inexcusable. And it's the number one story on my Google News page.

Obama did not say intervention in Libya was the worst mistake of his Presidency. He said he still supports intervening in Libya, his worst mistake was in failing to plan for the day after the intervention. The quote:

“Probably failing to plan for the day after,” Obama said in the session, which was taped at the University of Chicago on April 7. He added that intervening in Libya “was the right thing to do.”

All topics welcome, but speaking of TV: Has anyone been watching the Viceland shows? Vice launched its own channel at the end of February and has about 8 shows. From what I've read (no time for links right now) the network is geared towards millenials and the first month ratings via cable were not good. (There are many ways to watch.) I actually liked F*ck That's Delicious, with rapper Action Bronson. It's part of their "Munchies" series. I never heard of him before. Physically, he resembles one of the guys in Duck Dynasty. But he's from Queens, NY, NY, , the son of an Albanian Muslim and an American Jewish mother, so any similarity ends there.

Anyway, Action used to be a chef before he broke his leg and became a rapper. The New York Times has this pretty extensive write-up on Action and Viceland. [More...]

The Aspen Daily News has a funny article about Trump getting the naming rights to Sardy Field (Aspen's airport) and his plans to turn it into an international hub. It's an April Fool's joke.

There's even a photo of the new airport, topped with a Donald-style mane of hair. There's more about his plans to outlaw hiking, take on environmentalists and erect a statue of himself in Carbondale.

Trump is also seeking naming opportunities elsewhere in the Roaring Fork Valley. He has already approached Carbondale about placing a statue depicting himself as a Roman god in the town’s roundabout, and Glenwood Springs concerning the design of the Grand Avenue Bridge, which would be shaped like his p*nis.
